Compliance

By law, installations must be compliant with municipality specific bylaws for SSEG systems.  This is included in the cost.

Solar Energy Solutions

Convert your existing geyser to be powered by solar photovoltaic (electricity generating) energy using Geyserwise™ AC/DC element.

p
  • No inverter or battery needed- keeping cost low
  • The system is able to switch between solar & grid power sources according to availability of resource
  • 3 panel system costs as low as R16 000 (each conversion is quoted separately and costs will vary according to complexity)
  • The solar panels can be leveraged as part of a further solar conversion throughout your home – with the addition of an inverter & battery.

Replace your existing geyser with a solar geyser (water-heating solar panels)

Z

2 Options

  • Entire system mounted to roof
  • Water-heating solar panels mounted on roof, geyser placed in a suitable position

Please note:  Roof mounted systems start at R14 000 however the water heating panels can NOT be leveraged a part of any further solar conversion.

Partial movement off the grid

Solar System consists of photovoltaic solar panels, inverter and battery pack (termed small scale embedded generation / SSEG)

p

Functionality follows 3 simple principles:

  • During periods of sunlight the solar system firstly ensures that the battery is charged to ensure that power is available during non-sunlight hours, or if there is an outage from the power grid.
  • Secondly, the system then ensures that power is supplied to meet the electricity requirement of the home.
  • Thirdly, excess supply can be sold back into the grid

Generally, a system is able to run half of the home’s energy requirements for a year. (This is seasonal and summer will see 80% of requirements covered, winter less so and will cover around 30%).

The average system for a mid sized home will require

  • 3.6 KW Hybrid Inverter
  • 12 * 300 W Panels
  • Wiring of the existing DB board
  • 3.5 KWH battery pack (expandable as required) The cost for a partially off the grid system starts at R130 000, but quickly pays for itself.

Full movement off the grid

Solar system consists of photovoltaic solar panels, inverter, battery pack and generator (required for lengthy periods of poor sunshine)
p
  • During periods of sunlight the solar system firstly ensures that the battery is charged to ensure that power is available during non-sunlight hours
  • Secondly, the system then ensures that power is supplied to meet the electricity requirement of the home.
  • The generator is required when there has been limited/ no sunshine & battery stores are depleted.
  • These systems are totally bespoke and adaptable to individual requirements, starting from R250 000 and upwards

Non-solar energy saving

Small changes can make a big difference.

Lighting

  • Replace existing lighting with LED (starting at R50 per fitting)

Pool Pumps and geysers

  • Installation of timer switches on pool pumps and geysers
  • Installation of heat pumps on geysers
